Question:
What is the difference between the Safety Camera purchase options?
Answer:
Safety Camera information is available in formats including a One Year subscription, a One-time download, and a Free trial. Your format selection will depend on how frequently you plan to download updates as well as the length of time you would like to have the service.
One-year subscription – A One-year subscription will provide unlimited safety camera downloads for the region selected over the course of one year. Pay only one time and return as often as you choose to download updates to your compatible device. This option will keep you up to date as safety cameras are relocated or added in your area.
One-time download – A One-time update will allow a single snapshot purchase of the Cyclops safety camera database for the region selected. This inexpensive purchase option will give you up to date information at your time of purchase, and as information becomes outdated, another One-time update or One-year subscription can be purchased.
Free trial – Not sure if you are interested in a safety camera subscription? A 30-day free trial allows you to test out the service free of charge. Updates can be downloaded to your device throughout the free trial period. One free trial is offered per device and at the end of the trial, a new One-time update or One-year subscription can be purchased. The free trial is not available for all safety camera regions.

It would be interesting to know how this is like, or unlike the data available thru POI Factory. Thanks Boyd, I did read that, but just wondered of anyone else's experience with it. Downloading free trial now....
exactly, that's why cyclop be interestingI used the POI factory system for a couple of years. Whilst it worked ok I found that the main problem was that it did not work directionally. By this I mean if there was a camera in the opposite direction only I was still getting a warning. I use the cyclops system now as it seems accurate. I also prefer the fact that it is a direct download whereas the POI needs a small amount of work done first - as SergZak mentioned.
cyclops working on my old nuvi360, and i am sure your 3597 working with cyclops, just trye demo 30 days cyclops, just for fun, et make test with your gps in demo mode, if you know where is one radar camera location for one testI do not see the 3597 listed as a compatible unit for Cyclops.
Yes poi factory fork well, so is possible of the standard poi factory make false alarm ex: red light near your way or other! It doesn't have anything to do with putting the gpi file on your unsupported device, it's the fact that you can't get the trial version for a device that isn't on the compatiblity list. Here is what you get when you attempt to download the file for a unsupported 3597:
Also I was able to download the .gpi file using another one of my Nuvi's. Placing that file on the unsupported 3597 results in the contents of the .gpi file not even showing up under Custom POIs on the Nuvi.
The Cyclops files may well work on your 360 but you can't download or use them on a device that isn't on the compatibility list.
On the other hand, I have never had a problem with the speed and red light camera files from poi-factory.com and they are free, have no device compatibility issues, are updated monthly and are free if you maintain your account over there.
Also I was able to download the .gpi file using another one of my Nuvi's. Placing that file on the unsupported 3597 results in the contents of the .gpi file not even showing up under Custom POIs on the Nuvi.
Curious, on other forum , one said:Thanks but I could have 100 gpi files and none of them will work on a 3597. Tested and proven as per above posts:

thanks lol, you are quick!, so, I am désapointé that nouveauz nuvi not supposte cyclops? The Cyclops Safety Cameras were never preinstalled on the Nuvi 3597 because, once again, they are not compatible with that model Nuvi. The speed and red light cameras that are available from POI-Factory work fine on all Nuvi models.
Anyone have any experience with this subscription you can buy from Garmin?
